I’m a researcher and graduate instructor working at the intersection of hospitality, tourism, and data science. My research uses natural language processing and machine learning to understand how people experience dining, travel, and service — published in journals including the International Journal of Hospitality Management, Tourism Recreation Research, and Tourism Analysis.
Before academia, I worked in hotel operations across India, topped the UGC-NET in Tourism Administration and Management, and held a research fellowship at NISER, Bhubaneswar. I now build open-source R packages — including mdeinR and lexiExpand — so that text analytics tools remain free and accessible to researchers everywhere, regardless of institutional resources. This blog is where I apply the same methods to lighter, sometimes unexpected subjects.
